Operational tips: These kegs should be chilled in the fridge for around 12 hours or until they are at fridge temperature (4°C) to prevent excessive foaming and a delicious pint, the beer can then be dispensed perfectly. The beer is best consumed within 72 hours so to ensure correct carbonation and freshness. Ensure the beer tap is fully pulled out so that the internal seal can energise against the inner keg body or you may find some leaking from the keg body. The first initial pour may be slightly foamy due to the built up carbonation but this is to be expected and will settle quite quickly, the pour may also slow on the first pint as a vacuum is created while dispensing the beer. Once the pour becomes quite slow, release the top vent cap, which releases the vacuum. When dispensing the beer leave the top cap open when pouring then close it once the pint has been poured, this ensures a nice steady speed of pour without an excessive head and ensures no loss of carbonation between pours. Continue this process until the keg is empty and enjoy each quality pint of beer with a perfect pour.
Warning: Do not open the vent cap until the pour has slowed down after the first pint or the beer may evacuate the keg through the top cap with potential beer wastage and mess.
